There are straps on the bottom, thick and sturdy. The walls of the booster are thick and padded, also sturdy. I took it out of the box and showed it to my cat (it's for her) and she hopped right into it and took a nap. Soft material obviously from the photo the cat approves. The pillow comes out if you have a larger animal. There is a small leash/tether inside so you can fasten it to your pet's harness or collar.

I have a Honda and my husband a Kia and out cat likes to stand on the console in each. The basket fits both. Now while we drive she will have her own seat.

I love this console seat. But let me share my thoughts...the sturdiness is a 2 star for me. It’s secure and fits in my F150 great! But when turning corners, the weight of my chihuahua shifts so does the seat. So I hold onto it. It’s not a big deal to do that so it’s low on my complaint list. It’s really well made. I love it and so does my pup! Hope what I’m trying to describe isn’t confusing!

The product is as described. Sturdy, well padded. The Velcro straps are wide and fit securely around top opening of console. My dog is 6.5# and it is a tight fit but she seems to like it. Hopefully on a longer trip she will lay her head down on the pillow front. I’m sure it will serve my purpose which is to have a secure seat for her on the console which is her favorite place to ride. I really do not think it is worth $73 but all good dog car seats are expensive. The company makes you feel guilty about returning; saying the seat cannot be reused so it will be a waste of materials. I will probably keep it because I couldn’t find another one. Plus they are all about the same cost. I have 4 stars because of the high cost.
Update: We’ve taken a couple car trips and she is more content because she can sit by me. We really like the seat.

Sadie, our 10.6 lb Shorkie, fits in this booster seat perfectly (but with not an inch to spare). She likes to hang with her paws out over the front end, so we position it so the end without the snaps and zippers faces forward to give her better support. The console on our SUV is a couple of inches shorter than the length of the booster seat, so the booster seat is cantilevered a bit over the front of the console due to where the support straps need to be positioned under the console's cover to ensure it is secure. Because the booster seat has a flexible rather than rigid bottom, that causes it to sag forward a bit in that unsupported area when Sadie puts all her weight over the front edge, as shown in the photo. That's not a deal-breaker and I'm sure we can configure a piece of rigid plastic or wood to place between the booster seat and console to better support it in that area for longer trips. The important thing is that Sadie seems to really like riding in it. It is a quality product that was shipped and received quickly. We also like the small brush that was included with it and use it daily. Overall, we are quite happy with this purchase!

This bed is amazing!!!! We moved cross country with our 7.5Lb Chihuahua and didn’t use this in the way it was intended. We positioned the carrier in between the dash and arm rest of our RAM Truck. It fit snuggly and the strap that you hook on to the harness was adequate enough I plan on sewing on a thicker strap and reinforcing it better. But this car carrier was wonderful, we got in to an accident a hour away from our new home. The truck spun a few times and hit a guard rail after hitting road debris and spinning with an ice covered road. I of course held on to her in the seat as we spun however even if I had not been able to (I was the passenger) she would of remained safe and stable as everything else in the truck shifted around. A wonderful product that will be perfect after a bit of my own touches. I know this will also work great in my Sedan as it’s intended strapped on to the arm rest area! If you’re looking for a nice bed your pet will love and nap comfortably in, look no more!
